Collection: Immune System

The immune system is the body's primary defence against harmful pathogens, infectious bacteria, and other "invaders". Through a series of steps known as the immune response, it attacks organisms and substances that enter the body and cause disease. The immune system consists of a network of cells, tissues, and organs located throughout the body. One important part of the immune system is in the gut, specifically the Gut Associated Lymphoid Tissue (GALT) found in the intestines. GALT is considered to be the largest collection of immune cells in the body, with 70% of all antibody-producing cells located here. Therefore, various systems, including the digestive system, lymphatic system, urinary system, and liver, work together as part of the immune system to protect the body. If one system is under strain (for example, due to a high toxic load, inflammation, acidity, etc.), it can place additional stress on other systems.

Therefore, boosting the immune system should always be seen as a holistic exercise that involves all aspects of health, including diet, exercise, potential food allergies, gut integrity, and digestive disorders.
